About Me

My name is Patrick Devlin and I am managing director of Vosseler (UK) Ltd.

This blog is intended as a personal reflection on the commercial fit out sector of the construction industry with a particular emphasis on office partitions, which is the focus of my company. I hope you find it informative and interesting, but please feel free to comment and contribute. Some debate will make it more interesting. You may not agree with everything I say but everyone has a right to an opinion, so if you want put forward a different view, or correct me on anything I’ll respect that.

I originally trained as an architect to RIBA Part 2 at Oxford Polytechnic (now Oxford Brookes University) and subsequently at Canterbury College of Art. I worked for a few years in various architectural practices in the south-east of England but then the grass on the contracting side of the fence started to appear a lot greener.

I worked through retail project management into retail fit-out contracting with other spells in sales & marketing for a demolition contractor and even landscaping. I started working for Vosseler UK in 1996 and was appointed managing director in 2003.

During this time I also studied management with the Open University Business School.

Vosseler UK are a specialist partitioning manufacturer and contractor. We have offices in Edenbridge Kent, and a workshop in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. We design, manufacture and install our own partitioning systems here in the UK as well as importing components and other complete systems from Europe.

We have operated in the UK since 1978 and so have gained many years’ experience on large prestigious projects. We still take on these types of projects, although the set-up of the company is now geared to more exclusive, demanding projects, such as churn works, projects in occupied buildings and out of hours work. In all cases we like to pride ourselves on the standard of service we provide to architects and designers, clients and contractors.

If any of what I say sparks an interest, if you’d like more information, to discuss in detail any aspects of the topics in my blog, or if you just want a chat, please do feel free to contact me. After all – it’s our business and we like talking about it!
